Like other professionals, Nurses also need to qualify National Level, State level, or University Level examinations after completing Class 12 in Physics Chemistry, and Biology subjects. e.g. AIIMS, PGIMER, CMC, JIPMER, BHU, Jamia Hamdard, RUHS, KGMU, etc.
Graduation in the Nursing profession :

Post Graduation in Nursing Profession :
The Minimum education requirements include passing a B.Sc. Nursing or B.Sc. Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. Other than 55% Marks minimum of 1 year of job experience must become eligible for PG Exams of Nursing. e.g. AIIMS, PGIMER, CMC, JIPMER, BHU, Jamia Hamdard, RUHS, KGMU, etc.
PG in Nursing requires your extreme dedication towards education (Number of assignments), Clinicals (100% Clinical attendance), Managerial and administrative role (Handling Nursing Graduates), and Research (Dissertation)
Like other Post Graduation courses PG in nursing also includes specialty areas, which are as follows in India :
- Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing
- Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing

Ph.D. in Nursing :
To be eligible for a Ph.D. in the nursing program, you must hold a Master’s degree in Nursing with an aggregate of at least 55% from a recognized university. After clearing the entrance exam NET fellowship exam or AIIMS OR JIPMER examination one can achieve a doctorate degree in a minimum 3year if you are a regular student. Few private universities in India require 3-5 years of experience after PG to get eligible for Ph.D. Degree. Other than experience publication and finance are also essential requirements. A doctorate degree in nursing from a private university requires a minimum of 5 years of hard work along with your job.
